Is anyone doing performing arts at Bracknell and Wokingham college?
Also has anyone finished doing performing arts at Bracknell and Wokingham college 1 or 2 years ago!!
No I’m not doing performing arts at the college, however I do go to Bracknell and Wokingham College (I’m doing media studies and english) and I have heard that the course is very good.
Are there any performing arts studios near Columbus, Oh that have singing and dancing classes combined?
I am trying to find a performing arts studio or program for my preteen to attend that has a "show-choir" class, or something similar that combines both dancing and singing. I am particularly seeking a program that requires little to no experience, and that is in the Greater Columbus area.
Try looking on the website http://www.nationalguild.org. It lists community arts schools. Many of them teach dance, music, art, and I know of some in my area (Philadelphia) that offer show choirs (or something similar).
Good luck!

What do you think are the benefits of the performing arts?
Confidence? Overall academic achievement? Social ease?
What would you say are the pluses of actively participating in any of the performing arts. Music, acinf, dancing etc.
There is a pole that says students that are in band are more likely to suceed in life. Does that answer ur question?
What are some really good performing arts schools?
I’m 14, and I want to attend a performing arts college after high school. I would LOVE to go to Juilliard, but I know the chances of that happening are slim to none. I can act, sing, and sort of dance. Can anybody list really good performing arts schools like Juilliard??
One the hardest performing arts Schools to get into, but one of the greatest, is The Actors Studio. They actually have their own show that airs on Bravo called: "Inside The Actors Studio" hosted by James Lipton. Its a show, where members of the school sit in the audience and take notes on things that the guest of the show talks about. People Ranging from Billy Crystal, to Barbra Streisand have been on that show. I’m not sure if they accept teenagers, but I do know they allowed Barbra Streisand to audition for the school when She Was 15, but at the same time that was in the 50s.
But also in NYC their is The High School Of Performing Arts. Legendary people from Broadway have gone there. Such examples would be Marvin Hamlisch (Composer), and Liza Minnelli (Singer/Actress). It back in the 1960s used to right across the street from Capitol Records, Where Liza Minnelli recorded her first three albums. How convenient that must of been for her to have her recording studio right across the street from her High School.
And as far as a Performing Arts College that I myself, am hoping to attend is Emerson college in Boston, Massachusetts. People such as Mario Cantone (Comedian/Broadway Entertainer) have gone there. Mario Cantone is usually on The View after each major award show doing a rap up. Like after the Tonys he goes on the View and does a Tony Rap up of what he thought of the Tonys, and the same with like The Oscars, Emmys, etc. Other Notable things that he has done has been in the Stephen Sondheim musical, Assassins. Which was on Broadway in the early 2000s, actually I think one of the first performances of the show had to be cancelled because of 9/11. But anyways look up Mario Cantone on YouTube, I think he is one of the funniest comedians ever.

What are some good universities that focus on the performing arts?
I’m currently a Junior in high school right now, and I want to go to a university that focuses on the performing arts as a whole. I’m a singer in my high school choir, and I’m also an actress in my community. My hope is to pursue both! What universities would be the best to pursue both singing AND acting?
Whenever I think of art school the first that comes to mind is Juilliard but you can also look on ArtSchools.com an art school directory
How hard is it to get into a good performing arts college?
How difficult is it to get into Juilliard or another good performing arts college in the drama division? What kind of experience would be needed to get in?
Nothing is hard in life if yu set your mind to it and set a goal. U’ve been told it was hard to get into Berklee College so I practiced and auditioned and passed with flying colors. Eventually, I taught there. Not bad for a student. Experience has nothing to do with it.
If you have natural talent, you are more than halfway there. I am not saying it is easy. It costs about $40,000 – 45,000 per YEAR to go to a private college like Juilliard. The State schools are less and whatever you decide, you need to make sure that you will have the funds to get through it.
Havins said this, there are more than a handful of schools that would suit you and thousands of performing art schools in America.
Good Luck …
What should the wife and I wear to a Performing Arts show?
This isn’t really my thing, but I wanted to surprise my wife and spent alot of money on tickets to a Performing Arts show. My question is what do we wear to this this thing? Should I bust out my suit and Tie or can I get away with less?
Thanks for your help!
Whenever I go for a rock show…i usually wear jeans and all that stuff(including caps,lockets,etc)..if the show is classical…traditional dress works for me and if i’m going to attend a ”family show" or when i am at the performing arts show..i usually wear suit and a tie…i keep on changing the colour-patterns of the tie for a change…
why do they reject me because I do performing arts?
I am doing performing arts student and I need a small job, but if I go and ask anywhere outside the theatre, they reject me when they hear that I do performing arts. Why is this? Just because I need time off for shows, doesn’t mean I don’t want a job at all.
Most of the time employers see performing arts individuals as unstable. They consider us a risk for their business and would rather hire someone that will not have a conflict of interest, as they like to call it. A lot of minimum wage jobs also go through employees at a high rate so they have a tendency to say no when or if they see a potential risk. I am not sure what type of performing arts you are in but I know this applies especially to actors more than dancers, as actors seem to get called for castings/auditions on the spot and have to drop what they are doing to run to the audition. If you are a dancer, that usually doesnt happen that frequently so maybe you should explain that you are a dancer and you dont have a million auditions to go to at the drop of a dime. The only other thing you can tell them is close to nothing…dont pose as a risk if you know you wont be one. Dont let them judge you incorrectly. Just tell them as much of the truth as necessary and leave it at that. If you are running to castings & auditions constantly however, try to get a night job. Typically castings and auditions are not held later at night. You could have your days free for training and auditions and your nights to work to keep you on path of your dreams! If this isnt something you are interested in, try doing promotions…it is promotional modeling actually. There are usually always promotions giong on and you are not obligated to do every one that comes up. If you can work it, you book it and if you cant, it doesnt matter. There are pros & cons to doing promotions but the good thing is that they are very flexible. Hope this helped!
