How many beers until you start acting a bit differently but still under control?
Im 150 pounds and I’m wondering how many beers it should take to start acting a bit differenly but still be under control. I know it’s different for different people and beers and if you ate and stuff. But just for average how many beers do you think it would take for a 150 pounder to start acting differenly without faking it but still be mostly under control for a new drinker.
When I drank it took me about 9 beers to FEEL normal, as in I didn’t have the shakes anymore. By about beer # 12 I had a little buzz, and anything after 15 or so and I was an idiot.
So I would say 9 beers to be totally relaxed and in control for me…I weighed 170 at that time.

What should you do when you are into acting and your parents do not want to move to a big city?
I’m into acting but my parents do not want to move to a big city. I want to do TV/Film and have a lot of live performance experience. How do I get this experience? Can anyone tell me any names of acting places or fim companies in Canton-Akron Ohio. Thank you for your answer in advance. Also does anyone know of a good acting school or camp?
Wait until you turn 18 and graduate from high school, then you can leave home and go to LA or New York on your own.

How important is it to study acting in college to be a successful actor?
How important do you think it is to study acting (i.e. be an acting/theatre/drama/performing arts major) in college to be a good, skillful, and successful (not in terms of becoming some major motion picture star, but in terms of knowing your craft) actor?
not really that much in terms of becoming a "star" like you stated. however, it can help cultivate your talent adn possibly lnad you on broadway much easier than what it takes to be a "star." most of the tv stars and movie stars could not do plays and even get past the first round of broadway casting (ex. Vin Diesel, Ice Cube, Paris Hilton, etc.).
What are some good acting classes to start out with?
So I’ve been looking into acting classes and I was wondering what would be better
Acting intensive, or actor workshop?
what do they both do?
And if I’m not right for either, what are good classes to start out with?
Oh and if you could, could you put in order of classes?
I’m dedicating my entire year to training for my acting career
So I’m going to be taking different classes all the time
Could you organize all the classes from beginning to
semi-advanced,
and then to advanced or whatever?
well acting intensives and acting workshops are not mutually exclusive.
to answer your question the top four are as follows (trying to put them in order of importance though some disagree).
scene study. this is the base of everything. you need to know how to take apart a scene and performs it. there are various techniques, adler, miesner, etc. this is essential because it will not only teach you acting skills but also how to approach a part/scene.
-cold reading. cold reading is basically learning how to audition when you have no or little time with the script beforehand (thus a cold read) . this is important because you need a good audition to land any part.
-a commercial class. people think this is important because as a beginning actor you’ll get work in commercials to start with. this will leas into bit parts in tv or movies. its not really essential to become a great actor, but it is to have an acting career.
-improv. improv looks great on a resume. in auditions it isn’t unusual for a casting director to tell you to improv the rest of the scene. also, it really teaches you how to be comfortable with your body and movements, which translated in your craft.
most classes let you audit before you pay for a 4-10 week commitment. this means you’ll get to sit in on one class. different schools/coached have different rules about auditors participating. some will just let you watch while others will invite you to jump in. either way, it gives you an idea of what the class is like.

How long should I take acting lessons before I search out an agent?
How long should I take acting lessons before I start looking for an agent to help me with my passion for acting?
Training is a continuous thing.
To get a Commercial agent, you need:
-An IMPROV class
-A Commercial class
-An auditioning/cold reading class
-And a GREAT headshot
You can accomplish these things for a commercial agent in a minimum of 3 months. A theatrical agent (film/tv) can take longer (years). Most good theatrical agents won’t see you unless you’re SAG, have a polished resume, and a demo reel.
You can get an agent multiple ways. Here are a few common ways:
-Mail in an unsealed manilla envelope with a CONCISE coverletter and headshot with the resume stapled on the back. If you have a demoreel include that too.
-Attend a showcase and impress them. By showcase I do not mean scammy conventions like IMTA, IPOP, Proscout, or Best New Talent. I mean legit ones like at Actor Connection, Reel pros, Network Studios, etc.
-Get a referral from a friend who is with the agency that you’re interested in
DON’T
-Email them unless they tell you to. IT’S UNPROFESSIONAL!
-Call unless they tell you to. ALSO UNPROFESSIONAL!
-Walk in and ask for a meeting. UNPROFESSIONAL THREE!
-Sign with them if they ask for upfront money, make you take new photos with THEIR photographer, or take THEIR classes. Agent’s ONLY make money when you do. Agents usually make 10% on film/tv and commercials and 20% on commercial print.
